A cap badge issued to the 8th (City of London) Battalion (Post Office Rifles). The Post Office Rifles wore a white metal badge of Rifle Brigade type. The honours 'Egypt 1882' (granted in honour of men from the battalion, then the 24th Middlesex Rifle Volunteers, who volunteered to serve as the Army Post Office during the campaign) and 'South Africa 1899-1902' are unique among Territorial battalions.
The badge is in very good condition. An original and scarce badge, World War One.
