Original German Medal for Loyalty in WW1, Kyffhauserbund War Commemorative Medal 1914 - 1918

Original German Medal for Loyalty in WW1, also known as the Kyffhauser League or Kyffhauserbund War Commemorative Medal 1914 - 1918. It was instituted in 1922 by the  Kyffhauserbund, a German veteran's organisation for veterans of the war, reservists, and those who had served on the home front. It had to be purchased after receiving an award document and as such was a significant award, often the only medal held by WW1 soldiers before the Cross of Honour of the World War (Hindenburg Cross) in 1934.

This medal has a length of original ribbon which is hard to find. Plenty of gilt finish remains but there is corrosion on the edges. Overall condition is good for age, the text on both sides is easy to read.
