A very nice 'sweetheart' brass and enamel lapel badge from the First World War, for the Central Association of the VTC, Volunteer Training Corps. The VTC was the WWI equivalent to the Home Guard. Minerva's head is in the centre, the Roman goddess of wisdom and strategic warfare.
The badge has a gilt finish, and the reverse has a crescent moon backing and the maker's mark. In beautiful condition, issued in 1914.
