A rare original World War One Ottoman Turkish Infantry fragmentation hand grenade, deactivated and inert. It's Gallipoli era, 1914 model, no. 2 'cricket ball' pattern. The Arabic inscription on the side translates to "Type 2 Infantry Grenade". The original fuse and screw cap are long gone (extremely rare to find today) but fortunately the original belt fixing ring is still present on the grenade.
In respect of its age, overall condition is good (in our opinion), showing plenty of character appearance. The design is possibly based on the British WW1 "Mills" bomb. This Turkish grenade looks to be made entirely from a cast metal, and is noticeably large for a grenade. Being rare to find, we only have this one from World War One.
UK postage is included. International shipping would have to be calculated and added on.
