A rare membership badge in good condition issued for the Reichsbund der Kinderreichen, Reich's Union of Large Families. The RDK was founded in Germany after the WW1 to promote marriage and large families, members should have at least 4 children and widows were also able to be members. It was forcefully nazified after 1933 and the goal was the preservation and promotion of the German hereditary healthy Aryan family. It was renamed in 1940 and disbanded in 1945.
The badge is die-cast metal in a silver finish, with red and blue enamel detailing. On the face is a central design depicting an eagle, with wings protecting its young, on a red circular background. The design is surrounded by a blue ring border, with the inscription RDK in silver at the top, and a swastika and leaf emblem at the base. On the reverse is "Ges. Gesch" which means protected by law, and the maker's mark of "A.K.". The pin is there. It measures 25 mm approx across. In good condition for its age.
